In this way, Sunil Gavaskar started a discussion about resting fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the Ranchi Test against England by Rohit Sharma and Co. Gavaskar gave a statement about Rohit Sharma's bold decision Gavaskar also opened up about India's decision not to use Bumrah in the deciding match of the Test series against England. An international cricket stadium will be built in Varanasi at a cost of 345 crores

- Government of Uttar Pradesh and Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI will help UPCA to build international cricket stadium

New delhi date. 20 July 2022, Wednesday

A big dream of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association i.e. UPCA is going to come true soon. UPCA will now also have its own stadium, just like the various state cricket associations of the country. An international cricket stadium is going to be built in Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For this Uttar Pradesh Government and Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI will help UPCA.

An international cricket stadium will be built in Varanasi at a cost of around 345 crore rupees. The UP government is providing the land for this while the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) will construct it. BCCI gives Rs 80-90 crore subsidy to each state cricket association on construction of stadiums and thus UPCA will also get this amount from BCCI.

A top BCCI official said, Secretary Jai Shah and Vice-President Rajeev Shukla visited the landmark ground in Ganjari of Rajatalab tehsil on Sunday. BCCI and UPCA found that land suitable for a stadium. Soon there will be an official announcement of the construction. Earlier the Union Sports Minister and Jai Shah came to Banaras to see the land but they did not like the land.

Green Park in Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh and Ikana Stadium in Lucknow are not owned by UPCA. The green park belongs to the state government which UPCA has taken on lease from the government. While Ikana is built on PPP (Public Private Partnership) model. Among the matches that UPCA receives from BCCI are Test matches at Kanpur and ODI and T20 matches at Ikana Stadium.

UPCA will have its own stadium in Banaras so most of the matches will be held there. A BCCI official said, "Currently we are thinking of a stadium with a capacity of 30,000 to 35,000 spectators in Varanasi as a stadium with a capacity higher than that would not be suitable in eastern Uttar Pradesh."
