Former Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis has slammed his country's fast bowlers Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz, saying cricketers hurt the national interest in order to make easy money in the Twenty20 league. Just last year, Aamir-Riaz said goodbye to Test cricket for playing in a limited overs format. Aamir was criticized for taking this decision at the age of eight.
"In this type of T20 league, players get huge money without much effort," Waqar said. They do not have to work hard. Only four overs have to be bowled in T20. Players think only about their comfort and earnings. They don't think about how much damage they are doing to the nation. They never think in a larger perspective.
Waqar is also not happy with the way Aamir and Riaz have announced their retirement. Announcing his retirement on social media is shocking, he said. In fact he should have informed his cricket board and management first. He should first discuss the matter and then take a step forward.
