Find out about the match in which Sachin was selected in the first Test team for the 1989 tour of Pakistan

Mumbai, April 24, 2020. Friday
Sachin Tendulkar, the god of cricket today, started his international cricket career in November 1989. The opening of the Indian cricket team to Pakistan was handed over to Srikkanth, led by Dilip Vengsarkar. 0 shit was lost. Vengskar's performance as a player and captain was mediocre. So his dismissal as captain was almost certain. Vengsarkar also had an altercation with the Indian Cricket Board over playing cricket in the United States. The board was opposed to playing in the US but the Supreme Court's intervention allowed Vengsarkar to go to the US. Vengsarkar not only resigned as captain but also unilaterally withdrew his name from the Indian cricket team that was on a tour of Pakistan.

Even if he had not done so, Vengsarkar was determined to be dropped as captain and player. Tendulkar became the youngest Indian to play Test cricket at the age of 16 years and 205 days and the 4th highest ranked player in the world. Speaking of India, this was the first record of Shivram Krishna who started playing international cricket at the age of 17 years and 118 days. Tendulkar scored 47 in a charity match for Imran Khan's Cancer Hospital before the match started at the National Stadium in Karachi on November 15. The Karachi Test was Salil Ankola's first match like Sachin's.
Srikkanth wins toss and invites Pakistan to bat first Kapil Dev's 4-run knock off Aamir Malik's wicket proves that Srikkanth's decision to bowl was right. At the end of the first day's play, Pakistan were 259 for four. On this day, a Pakistani spectator attacked Srikanth and tore his shirt. It is said that the controversy erupted from Kapil Dev's threat but the whole experience was frightening for little Sachin.

On the second day, Miandad became the 350th victim of Kapil Dev by adding 2 individual runs. Pakistan gave a huge score of 409 runs for the loss of 10 wickets. In reply, India lost four wickets for 41 runs in which Srikanth, Sidhu, Manjrekar and Prabhakar were bowled out by Waqar Younis and Akram. Now it was Sachin Tendulkar's turn to bat. He played 24 balls and scored 15 runs at the crease in 30 minutes which was the beginning of his Test career. Youngster Sachin bowler Waqar Younis was bowled.
After Sachin, Azharuddin also got out quickly and there was a fear of being followed by India. In the end, wicketkeeper Kiran More's play saved India from being followed. India were bowled out for 262, giving Pakistan a 147-run lead. Adding to the lead in the second innings, Pakistan put up a huge score of 456 for victory. When India's second innings came, Waqar Younis could not bowl due to back pain. India took advantage of the absence of an in-form bowler to pull the Test match to a draw with 303 runs, with Navjot Sidhu scoring 85 and Sanjay Majrekar 103. Tendulkar's innings did not come in the second innings of the Test, thus ending Tendulkar's first international Test match in which he started with 15 runs in the first innings.
