Many people have been stuck away from their homes and are facing problems due to the lockdown decision due to corona. India's ICC umpire Anil Chowdhury accompanied his two sons to Dangrol, a paternal village in the Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh. They are stuck there after deciding the lockdown.
Anil Chowdhury's wife and mother are in Delhi. Now that no mobile network is available in Dangarol, Anil Chowdhury has to climb trees and sometimes rooftops to communicate with his wife and mother.
"I came to the village with my two sons and we were going to stay here for a week," he said. However we were stuck here after the sudden lockdown was announced. While my mother and wife are in Delhi. The biggest problem here is the mobile network. I can't talk to anyone or use the Internet. I have to go out of the village and climb a tree to get a mobile network, or climb a rooftop. Doing so does not necessarily mean getting a network every time.
Choudhary said that the ICC for umpires is currently running on-line programs. Although there is no network in mobile, I cannot participate. My son's studies are also being affected. Though lectures have started online at his college, he has not had the opportunity to join the classes due to lack of mobile network.
Stating that the problem of the network is not present-day, he said that for the last one year there has been a network problem which has not been resolved. Our village is only 5 km away from Delhi, but this is the case here. We had sent a letter to the district in-charge about it two days ago, but we have not yet received a reply.
