Our goal is to include kabaddi in the Olympics: Sports Minister

The goal of the Indian Ministry of Sports is to include the game of Kabaddi in the Olympics. Indian Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju said that other Asian countries should work together for this. The Sports Minister held video conferencing with Kabaddi coaches from India, Korea and Malaysia.

Rijiju said that the game of Kabaddi has found a place in the Asian Games. Kabaddi is widely played in Asia and all countries are now trying to take the game to the Olympics. Achieving this goal requires raising the level of kabaddi in the country. Efforts should be made to increase the prevalence of Kabaddi in the world.

The Sports Authority of India had organized an online program for the coaches of 30 different sports. Kiran Rijiju spoke to about 200 kabaddi coaches across the country. Korea and Malaysia also joined the program. Currently in lockdown, the Sports Authority of India has programmed such coaches in 30 sports, which has benefited more than 3,000 coaches.
