Allow Indian cricketers to play in foreign leagues: Irfan-Raina suggests to board

New Delhi, Dt

Former Indian cricketers Irfan Pathan and Suresh Raina have suggested to the Indian Cricket Board that players who have been knocked out of the race for a place in the national team should be allowed to participate in the T20 league played abroad. He also demanded that the board as well as the franchisees should come up with a plan so that Indian cricketers can play in at least two foreign leagues.

"I hope the BCCI should work with the ICC or the franchise in the future to give Indian cricketers a chance to play in overseas leagues," Raina said in a live Instagram chess session. Players like us should be scheduled to play in at least two foreign leagues.

"It's good for us if we play in the league with strong teams abroad," he said. Most international cricketers have made a comeback by playing in this type of league.

Irfan Pathan added that the mentality of different players is different. Michael Hussey entered Australia internationally at the age of eight. It is unthinkable for an Indian player to get admission in this way. I believe you should have a chance to come back as long as you are fit. My recommendation is that players who are 50 years of age or older and not on the radar of national selectors should be allowed to play in foreign leagues.
