It is a well-known fact that the whole of India used to stop to watch the batting of Sachin Tendulkar, the god of cricket.
Tendulkar's first double century in ODI cricket was against South Africa and he was out at the time but South African fast bowler Dale Steyn made a surprising revelation that umpire Ian Gould refused to give him out out of fear of the spectators.
Stan said in an online program on an English channel. When Sachin was 10 runs away from his double century, he was clearly LBW out in my bowling but umpire Ian Gold gave a not out.
"When I asked the umpire," Why didn't you give Sachin out, he was out very clearly, "said Stan. Ian then said, "If my friend is around, I can't go back to the hotel if I give him out."
Tendulkar played an innings of 200 not out in this match. India scored 403 runs in the match. South Africa were then all out for 248 runs.
