New Delhi, Dt

The Indian Sports Ministry has been pushing for a national camp for athletes preparing for the Tokyo Olympics to be held from the end of May. Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju said, "Currently, our focus is on the athletes who are preparing for the Olympics." The rest of the athletes will have to wait until September for the national camp as well as other activities.

Rijiju added that the lockdown has been extended till May 15 due to Corona. This has also extended the deadline for starting training camps at Sports Authority of Indiana centers. Now the camp will start in different phases. First we will start the Sports Authority of India Center at NIS Patiala and Bengaluru. Where there are currently players. By the end of this month, the players' practice will start at these two centers.

The camp will only start for athletes who have qualified for the Olympics or are preparing for Olympic qualifiers. With the Olympics in mind we will give the players a waiver with certain conditions. All sports camps were suspended in mid-March as the Corona epidemic spread.
