Dhing Express nominated for Hima Das Khel Ratna award

Hima Das, a 20-year-old runner from Assam, has been nominated by the Assam government for the Khel Ratna award under the name of Dhing Express. Assam Sports Secretary Dulal Chandra Das has sent a letter to the Union Sports Ministry recommending that the country's top sportsman Hima Das be given the country's biggest sports award.

Hima Das, who performed brilliantly in the year 2018, lives in Dhing village of Assam. Hima, 20, is the youngest player to be nominated for Khel Ratna this year. Hima won a gold medal in the women's 400m at the 2018 Under-20 World Championships in Finland. So she became the first Indian woman sprinter to win a gold medal at the World Championships.

Won 2 gold medals in Asian Games

After becoming the Under-20 World Champion, she won gold in the 400m, four times in the 400m relay and four times in the 400m at the Asian Games in Jakarta. He was also awarded the Arjuna Award by the Government of India.
