Following the Kovid-12 epidemic, the Indian cricket team has announced the cancellation of its upcoming tour of Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. The Indian team was scheduled to take a short tour of Zimbabwe in August. Earlier, India and Sri Lanka were scheduled to play a series on Sri Lankan soil in June-July. The postponement has been announced by the Sri Lankan Board.
As per the earlier schedule, the Indian team was scheduled to tour Sri Lanka on June 9 and play three ODIs and three T20I matches between the two countries. This was followed by a three-match ODI series in Zimbabwe from August 4. The BCCI has announced that, when the situation becomes completely safe, it will organize a camp for the players. The ICC has previously announced that for Test cricket, players must be given three weeks for match fitness.
The Indian team last played a series at home against South Africa. After the first match of the series between India and South Africa, the series was called off due to a sudden epidemic.
