The future of the IPL is likely to be decided at a meeting of the Apex Council of the Indian Cricket Board tomorrow. The BCCI has prepared an 11-point agenda for its apex council meeting, which will include discussions on the future tour program as well as the home cricket calendar in addition to the IPL.
Corona has currently shut down cricket in most countries. The West Indies are currently playing a three-Test series in England. While the Pakistan team has also reached England for the tour. While BCCI President Ganguly has announced that the Indian cricket team will also tour Australia in December, the BCCI is also considering the next program.
Cricketers as well as fans are waiting to see if the high-profile Indian Premier League will be held this year. The possibility of a decision being taken tomorrow cannot be ruled out. The board is believed to be considering holding the IPL in September or early November. The ICC has not yet made a decision on the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia in October, which is why the BCCI is expected to adopt a wait-and-see policy on the IPL.
It has been decided that the domestic cricket calendar will be cut. Due to Corona, India's domestic cricket calendar is not likely to be held as in previous years. It will also be interesting to see how the board decides on the domestic cricket calendar in the current context.
