There are indications that the Indian cricket board is excluding the Chinese company from the IPL sponsorship.
Anger against China is mounting across the country after 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a battle with Chinese troops in the Galvan Valley. Arrogant statements by Chinese media and spokespersons are fueling outrage.
Under these circumstances, there are indications that the cricket board will also cancel the sponsorship of a Chinese company in India's most popular tournament, the IPL.
A meeting may be convened by the cricket board in the coming days to reconsider sponsorship. Board sources said the decision on sponsorship of Chinese companies in the IPL would be taken in the best interest of cricket and the country.
However, sources said that no date has been fixed for the meeting yet. Some other issues may also be discussed at the meeting.
Yesterday, Punjab team co-owner Ness Wadia also said that sponsorship of Chinese companies from the Indian Premier League should be phased out.
