The Asia Cup in September this year has been canceled. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly announced on Wednesday that the Asia Cup 2020 has been canceled. The announcement comes a day before the Asian Cricket Council's meeting on Thursday.
"It is difficult to say whether this will be India's first international series," the BCCI president said. We have done our best but there is nothing we can do about the rules of the government. We are in no hurry. The health of the players is our first priority. We are monitoring the situation every month.
This year the host was the Pakistan Cricket Board, but India refused to go, after which it decided to host the tournament in the UAE.
Consider holding IPL outside India
"We have started our efforts with the IPL," said Sourav Ganguly. IPL is very important for India. We will try to hold in India. We can organize it in 4 to 5 places. But if that doesn't happen, we will consider holding it outside India. Every option is open to us.
