Yuvraj Singh, who played a pivotal role in helping India win the 2011 World Cup, said the BCCI's treatment of him was not fair towards the end of his career. However, this phenomenon is not limited to just me. Even in the final stages of the careers of veterans like Harbhajan, Sehwag, Zaheer, the board did not treat them properly.
"It is a part of Indian cricket to misbehave with star cricketers towards the end of their careers," Yuvraj quipped. I have seen this in the past and I am not surprised.
"However, this situation should change in Indian cricket," Yuvraj said at an event. If a player has played for the country for many years, he should be respected at the time of departure. A legendary player like Gautam Gambhir was instrumental in giving India two World Cups. After Gavaskar in Test cricket, Sehwag will be the biggest match winner in India. VVS Laxman and Zaheer have also made the country proud.
Earlier, Yuvraj had made controversial comments regarding his retirement. He also hinted at Dhoni, saying he did not have the support of the captain and the coach.
