England's thrilling three-wicket win in the first Test against Pakistan

Seventh-ranked all-rounder Chris Vokes hit an unbeaten six and a crucial 16-run partnership with Butler (2) helped England to a thrilling three-wicket victory in the first Test against Pakistan. England surpassed the target of 7 to win by losing seven wickets in 4.1 overs. With this, England took a 1-0 lead in the series.

England were bowled out for 212 against Pakistan's score of 9. Pakistan were bowled out for 10 in the second innings after scoring 104 runs. Due to which England got the target of 7. England had a poor start and their five-wicket haul of just 114 boosted Pakistan's spirits. However, the pair of Butler and Vox turned the tide. When Butler was out, England needed 41 runs to win. Vokes won England with the help of Broad and then the bosses.
