Match referee Chris Broad punished son Stuart for swearing on the field

The unique case of a match referee father punishing a cricketer's son for misconduct on the field was reported after the first Test of the series between England and Pakistan. Chris Broad, the father of former England cricketer and top fast bowler Stuart Board, was the match referee in the first Test between England and Pakistan. Stuart Broad had insulted the Pakistani batsman by dismissing him, for which his father had fined him 15 per cent of the match fee.

The list released by the ICC states that the incident took place in the 9th over of Pakistan's second innings. Broad uttered insults after dismissing Pakistan's Yasir Shah. For which he will have to lose 12% match fee. He also has one more de-merit point in his name.

With Broad's name, three demerit points have been registered in the last six months. On-field umpires Richard Kettleberg and Richard Illingworth, as well as other officials, blamed Broad. He pleaded guilty to the charges at the trial.
