The Centre's Lilizandi for the IPL in the UAE, on the 19th, decide on the sponsor

New Delhi, Dt

The Indian government has approved the BCCI to host the high-profile IPL in the United Arab Emirates. The IPL matches will now be played in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai from September 15 to November 10. As per the BCCI's advice, all the teams will now leave for the UAE only after August 20.

The Chinese company has moved away as the title sponsor of the IPL for the current year only, citing a backlash against Chinese products and companies. The search for a new sponsor has now begun and a decision on the matter will be taken on August 15, IPL chairman Brijesh Patel said. Patanjali is also expected to be in the running for the IPL title sponsor for a year.

At the insistence of Chennai Super Kings captain Dhoni, the franchise has planned a camp at the Chepauk Stadium before leaving for the UAE. They will then leave for the UAE on August 9. Corona's case is on the rise in the country, which is why the IPL's governing council decided to hold the tournament in the UAE.
