Good news for IPL fans, new IPL 2020 schedule finally announced

The 13th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to begin on September 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The franchise teams and fans have been waiting for the IPL schedule for a long time. The wait is finally over. The new schedule of IPL 2020 has been announced. The first match will be between defending champions Mumbai Indians and runners-up Chennai Super Kings. 24 matches of IPL 2020 will be played in Dubai, 20 matches in Abu Dhabi and 12 matches in Sharjah.

Earlier, the IPL was scheduled to be held in India from March 29. A schedule for this was also released. IPL had to be postponed due to Kovid-19. The ICC T20 World Cup was scheduled to be played in Australia in October-November this year, but has been postponed due to Covid-19. Following the ICC's decision, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided that the IPL would be played between September 19 and November 10.

The eight franchise teams participating in the 53-day tournament have reached the UAE and are currently in practice. The IPL is to be played in a bio-secure environment this time. The BCCI also handed over SOPs to all the teams before they left for the UAE. All matches will be played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
