In the first round of the French Open, 6-year-old Lorenzo Justino of Italy made history by defeating 21-year-old Corinthian Moutet of France after a record-breaking six hours and five minutes of struggle. Justino, ranked 16th in the world, defeated Moutet, ranked 7th, 0-6, 6-3 (7-6), 6-7 (6-4), 6-3, 16-17. The first-round match between the lesser-known players on the tennis circuit ranked second among the longest matches in the history of the French Open.
