Sanju Sams hit four fours and six sixes off six balls and Rahul Tewatia (two off 21 balls) and Steve Smith (50 off seven balls) hit half-centuries to give Rajasthan the record for the highest run chase in IPL history. With Agarwal's tumultuous innings of 104 off 50 balls, Punjab scored 4 for two. In reply, Rajasthan made history by scoring six runs for the loss of six wickets in 18.4 overs despite the pressure of the run chase.
Archer was unbeaten on 12 off 9 balls with two fours in the final moments and Tom Karr reached the crease in the tense moments before hitting the winning fours to give the team the victory.

Notably, in this previous match against Bangalore, Rahul had created a sensation by scoring an unbeaten 15 runs. Agarwal was the victim of Tom Karan and Rahul Rajput.
