Portugal's legendary football star Cristiano Ronaldo crossed the 100-goal milestone in international football by scoring two consecutive goals in the Nations League football tournament against Sweden to give the team a 2-0 victory. With this, Ronaldo has become the first European player to complete a century of goals in international football. He completed 100 goals in the first innings and then took his total to 101.
Ali Dina of Iran holds the world record for the most goals in international football with 104, and Ronaldo is just eight goals behind his record. In the match played at the Friends Arena Stadium in Stockholm, Sweden, Ronaldo scored the 100th international goal of his career by turning a free-kick into a goal in the 9th minute before half time. Ronaldo turned a free-kick into a straight goal for the 7th time in his career. After which he scored in the 9th minute of the match to ensure the victory of the team and scored the 101st goal of his career.
Ronaldo holds the record for most goals scored by a player in international football. While Sunil Chhetri of India is second with 4 goals and Lionel Messi of Argentina is third with 20 goals. Almost half of Ronaldo's international goals were scored after his 70th birthday. He has scored 3 goals in 6 international matches since his 70th birthday.
