Delhi Capitals have beaten Kolkata Knight Riders by 18 runs in today's IPL match played in Sharjah. After losing the toss and opting to bat first, Delhi batted hard and scored 228 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Calcutta chased down the target and were bowled out for 210 in 20 overs.

Prithvi Shaw's brilliant start and later Shreyas Iyer's unbeaten 88 off 38 balls put Delhi on a massive 228, the highest score in the IPL. Rishabh Pant also scored 38 off 17 balls. Shaw took full advantage of the powerplay by scoring 66 off 41 balls with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes. After which Iyer's innings rocked the mountain of runs.

Calcutta got off to a bad start as they chased down Delhi's 229-run target. In the second over, Sunil Narine was dismissed by Enrique. Naren scored just three runs. After which Shubhaman Gill shared a 64-run partnership with Nitish Rana but it did not last long. Shubhaman Gill could only make 28 off 22 balls.

After which Russell, who looked aggressive, managed to score 13 off 8 balls. After 10 overs, Calcutta were 94 for three. From here, Calcutta had to score 135 off 60 balls to win. In the final over, Rahul Tripathi was dismissed for 36 off 16 balls. The last 4 balls required 22 runs. But KKR could not make the run after which Delhi made a name for itself in the match.
