Punjab beat Abu Dhabi in the 38th match of the 13th season of the IPL on Tuesday night, beating top-ranked Delhi by 5 wickets this season. Punjab scored 167/5 in 19 overs. This was Punjab's winning hat trick.
In Punjab's victory, Chris Gayle scored 29 runs, Nicholas Pur scored a brilliant fifty in which he scored 53 off 28 balls. While Maxell contributed 32 runs. This is Punjab's third consecutive win and fourth with a total of 8 points in 10 matches and is ranked 5th in the points table.
Delhi won the toss and elected to bat in the 38th match of the IPL between Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab in Dubai. Delhi have scored 164 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs against Punjab. Shikhar Dhawan hit the second century of his IPL career with an unbeaten 106 off 61 balls with the help of 12 fours and 3 sixes.
Punjab got off to a bad start as they chased down Delhi's target. KL Rahul was out for just 15 and Mayank Agarwal for 5. But then Chris Gayle contributed 29 runs, Nicholas Pur 53 off 28 balls and Maxwell 32 runs. Though Delhi's Shikhar Dhawan made history by scoring a century in the second match in a row, the Delhi Capitals could not take advantage of his century.
Shikhar Dhawan hit the second century of his IPL career with an unbeaten 106 off 61 balls with the help of 12 fours and 3 sixes. He became the first player to score a century in two consecutive matches in the IPL. He scored 101 off 58 balls against Chennai in the last match.
