Another controversy has erupted in the IPL being played in the UAE. In yesterday's match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals, umpire Anil Chaudhary has given birth to a new controversy.
Hyderabad gave Delhi a 220-run target with an explosive batting. LBW had a strong appeal against R Ashwin off Sandeep Sharma in the 17th over during Delhi's batting. However, umpire Anil gave Ashwin a not-out.
However, in addition to giving the note out, the umpire also hinted that the ball had hit the pads adjacent to the edge of the bat. In these circumstances, the batsman could not be lbw out.
However, this did not have much effect on the match as Delhi lost the match by 88 runs and the match became a one-sided affair. However, as per the rules, a player cannot discuss with the umpire before taking a review.
However, after the gesture made by umpire Anil Chaudhary, the commentators questioned and said that it was no surprise that the umpire made such a gesture before the review system.
