Calcutta have won the 24th match of the 13th season of the IPL. Calcutta has beaten Punjab by 2 runs. Chasing a target of 165, Punjab could only manage 162/5 in the allotted 20 overs. With this defeat, Punjab faced its fifth consecutive defeat. Punjab lost for the sixth time out of 7 matches. This is Calcutta's fourth win.

Lokesh Rahul and Mayank Agarwal shared a 115-run stand in 14.2 overs for Punjab, who were batting against a target of 165 to win the match. Seeing his batting, at one point it seemed that Punjab would have won the match without a wicket. But Mayank Agarwal was bowled out for a personal 56 by the famous Krishna. He hit six boundaries and a six in his 39-ball innings.

But on the last ball of the 19th over, KL Rahul was dismissed for 74 off 58 balls. Punjab could not score 14 runs in the last over to win. Sixes were needed in the last ball to take the match to the super over but Glenn Maxwell was able to hit a four. Punjab came close to winning the match against Kolkata Knight Riders but the famous Krishna and Sunil Narine took the wickets again and in the end Kolkata Knight Riders got a thrilling two-run victory.

The 24th match of IPL 2020 between Kings XI Punjab and Calcutta Knight Riders was played at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium. This is the seventh match of Punjab and the sixth match of Calcutta this season. Calcutta won the toss and elected to bat. Batting first, Calcutta gave Punjab a target of 165 runs. Calcutta lost 6 wickets in 20 overs and scored 164 runs. Dinesh Karthik top-scored for Calcutta with 58 while Shubhaman Gill made 57.
