Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli has set a record with his 10th run against Delhi Capitals (DC). He became the first Indian to complete 9,000 runs in T20 cricket. Earlier, Virat had come close to this figure during an unbeaten 72-run innings against Rajasthan Royals (RR).
Before this match, Virat Kohli had 5502 runs in 181 matches in the IPL. Overall, he is the seventh batsman to score 9,000 runs in T20 cricket. He surpassed this figure in the 271st match by hitting a four off Hershal Patel's ball. Before this match, Kohli had scored 8990 runs in 270 innings at an average of 41.05 in T20 cricket.
Chris Gayle tops the list in terms of runs scored in T20 cricket. Gayle has 13,296 runs in 404 matches. Kieran Pollard is second with 10,370 runs. Pollard has played a total of 517 matches. Shoaib Malik scored 9926, Braden McCullum 9922, David Warner 9451 and Aaron Finch 9148.
Apart from this, Kohli has come close to completing 200 sixes in the IPL. Kohli is currently the sixth highest-scoring batsman in the tournament. He has a total of 192 sixes in the IPL to his name. If Kohli hits eight more sixes, he will become the fourth Indian batsman to hit 200 sixes in the IPL. Earlier, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma were included in the list.
