Mumbai Indians have clinched the IPL 2020 title in their own name and at the same time BCCI has been able to host the IPL safely in the coronal period. Now BCCI is looking to make next year's IPL a success.
Meanwhile, details are coming up that 9 teams are planning to play instead of 8 in the next season of IPL. If one more team joins the IPL-2021, a big auction could be seen this time.
According to media reports, BCCI is considering playing a new team in the IPL next year and this team may be from Gujarat. If this happens then the big auction of IPL could see a big change in the players of other franchises as well. The IPL auction is usually held in December but this year the auction will be held in early 2021 due to Corona.
BCCI president Sourav Ganguly recently announced that he would do his best to host the next IPL season in India but at the same time he made it clear that the UAE would be his backup option if he was unable to do so.
It may be mentioned that the Gujarat team participated in the IPL during the ban on Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. The captain of that team was Suresh Raina. In 2016, the team reached the qualifier-2 after topping the points table, while in 2017, Gujarat was ranked 7th.
