Sources revealed that the TV and digital rights of the Indian subcontinent of IPL matches, which have been making a splash in the cricket world, have finally sold for a record Rs 2,08 crore in e-Hazari the next day. According to a report, Disney-Star TV rights in the Indian subcontinent bought the rights for the next five seasons of the IPL for Rs 4.5 crore. While Reliance-Viacom 12 acquired digital rights in the Indian subcontinent for Rs 50,200 crore. The rights were sold for 210 matches of the IPL season 202 to 205.
For every match of the next five years of the IPL, the BCCI will earn Rs 104.5 crore from TV-digital rights alone. In addition, the IPL will surpass the English Premier League as well as Major League Baseball in terms of broadcasting fees per match. The auction of IPL media rights, which has been raining money on the BCCI, will go ahead for the third day tomorrow. There will be bids for the digital rights of 12 matches of each season's selection and for TV-digital rights in foreign markets.
According to a report , bids for the 15 matches of each season's selection stalled the next day at around Rs 1,200 crore. Which will move forward tomorrow. Selected matches include opening matches , finals , playoff matches and some double header matches.
