Mitchell's 180 runs: New Zealand's first innings against England

Darrell Mitchell's 120 off 212 balls with four fours and four sixes helped New Zealand to a massive six in the first innings of the second Test against England. At one stage, Mitchell and Blundell (103) shared a 6-run partnership from New Zealand with a score of 12/3. Braswell scored 4 and Bolt scored 12 not out. New Zealand recorded its highest score on English soil. Mitchell, meanwhile, finished third on New Zealand's highest score on English soil.

From England, Andersen was quick for three and Broad-Stokes-Leach was quick for 2-2. England scored 50 runs for the loss of one wicket in 20 overs in the first innings. Crowley was caught for 4 by Bolt at the hands of wicketkeeper Blundell. Alex Lees was not out for 3 runs. While Olly Pop was not out for 21 off 4 balls.
