Top 5 batsmen's record of over 50 in Bengal's innings against Jharkhand

In the Ranji Trophy quarter-finals, Bengal's top nine batsmen set a unique world record in first-class cricket by scoring 50 or more. In Bengal's first innings, everyone from the first-ranked batsman to the ninth-ranked batsman scored 50 or more runs and this was the first such incident in world cricket. Earlier, when the Australian cricket team was on a tour of England on the 19th , eight batsmen of the touring team had scored more than 50 against Oxford and Cambridge University teams. However, these eight batsmen were not in the top-eight.

Abhishek Raman (21) , Abhimanyu Ishwaran (3) , Sudip Kumar Gharami (16) , Anustup Majumdar (114) 2) , Sion Mondal (2 *) and Akash Deep (5 * in 12 balls) scored more than 50. With this, Bengal declared their first innings at 5 for 6.

Two centuries were also involved in the over 90 score from Bengal. Sudip Kumar Gharami was playing a 15-run marathon innings. While Anustup Majumdar scored 114 runs. Sushant Mishra of Jharkhand took three wickets and Nadim took two wickets. Jharkhand were 19 for five at the end of the third day's play today.

In the first innings from Bengal against Jharkhand, nine batsmen made history by scoring more than 50 runs. According to a report by the Association of Cricket Statisticians and Historians Records, a total of eight incidents in which seven batsmen have scored more than 50 in a first-class cricket innings have been recorded. However, Bengal's record is unique. Out of the 8 incidents reported earlier, three incidents are of Ranji Trophy. The record of seven batsmen scoring more than 50 in an innings was recorded by Maharashtra at 150-21 against North India, Holkar at 17-2 against Mysore and Bengal at 18-2 against Bihar.
