Shai Hope played a memorable innings of 115 runs in the 100th ODI of his career as Windies scored 311 runs for 6 wickets at the end of 50 overs in the second ODI against India. Shai Hope scored the 13th ODI century of his career. A partnership of 117 runs was registered between him and Pooran (74) in the fourth wicket. Due to which the host team could reach the score of 311. Shardul Thakur took three wickets for 54 runs from India. While Hooda , Chahal and Akshar got 1 wicket each.
Windies captain Puran, who was struggling to save the series after losing the first ODI against India, won the toss and elected to bat first in the second ODI. Shai Hope and Myers (39) shared an opening partnership of 65 runs. Hooda coat-and-bolted Myers. Hope kept one end and scored 115 off 135 balls with 8 fours and 3 sixes.
He added 62 runs for the second wicket with Brooks (35). Brooks-King was out in the span of 3 runs. Hope and Puran troubled India with a century partnership. Pooran and Powell's wickets were taken by Shardul Thakur. Shardul also got the prize wicket of Shai Hope.
