22-year-old American Sydney McLoughlin broke her own world record for the third time and won the gold medal in the women's 400m hurdles race. McLoughlin improved his own world record by 0.73 seconds. He won the gold medal at the ongoing World Championships in Eugene with a time of 50.68 seconds. The previous world record was 51.41 seconds , which was set by Sydney on June 25. She set the world record in the women's 400m hurdles race for the fourth time overall.

Famco Ball of the Netherlands won silver with a time of 52.27 seconds and Dalilah Muhammad of America won the bronze medal with a time of 53.13 seconds. Notably , Delilah was the defending champion.

America's Michael Norman won the world championship in the men's 400m race. The Tokyo Olympics gold medalist won gold with a time of 44.29 seconds. Kirani James of Grenada won silver with 44.48 seconds and Matthew Hudson-Smith of Great Britain won bronze with 44.66 seconds.

Double Olympic gold medalist Shaune Miller-Uibo of Brahmas won the women's 400m gold medal in her first ever world title. He gave a time of 49.11 seconds. While Marilady Paulina of Dominican Republic got silver with 49.60 seconds and Sada Williams of Barbados got bronze with a national record of 49.75 seconds.
