Asia Cup Twenty20 will be played in UAE instead of Sri Lanka: Ganguly announced

New Delhi, dated 21

Indian Cricket Board President Sourav Ganguly has announced that Asia Cup T20 will be played in UAE instead of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is currently in a state of extreme chaos. Seeing this, there were speculations about holding the Asia Cup in another country.

Speaking to reporters after the BCCI Apex Committee meeting, Ganguly said that the UAE will host the Asia Cup, adding that this is the only place where it does not rain.

According to media reports, the Sri Lankan Cricket Board had earlier expressed its inability to host the Asia Cup. Because of this, it is believed that the Asia Cup tournament to be held from 27th August to 11th September has been shifted to UAE.

International cricket continued amid political instability and chaos in Sri Lanka. However, he suspended the third season of the Lankan Premier League.
