The third and final match of the 3-match ODI series played between West Indies and India was played at Port of Spain, Trinidad. In this match, India has once again defeated the Caribbean team by a huge margin of 119 runs with a great performance. Shubman Gill has become the hero of this rain-stopped match. Gill played an unbeaten innings of 98 runs with great batting. Along with this victory, India has also made a 3-0 clean sweep in the series. Along with this, India has created a series of records in this match.
With the victory in this series, Team India has become the team with the most consecutive ODI bilateral series wins against any country. This is India's 12th win in a row against West Indies. From 2007 to 2022, India has won 12 consecutive series. After that comes the name of Pakistan. Pakistan has won 11 series against Zimbabwe and 10 against West Indies from 1996 to 2021. While South Africa has won the ODI series 9-9 against Zimbabwe and India against Sri Lanka.
This is West Indies' 9th consecutive defeat in last 2 months. While this is the biggest ODI defeat by any country on its own home pitch. West Indies had never lost by 119 runs on their home pitch before.
