Neeraj Chopra gave India a historic silver medal in the ongoing World Athletics Championship in Eugene, USA. Along with this, celebrations started with songs and music in Khandara, Neeraj's ancestral village in Panipat, Haryana, and an atmosphere like a festival was seen. Neeraj's family and friends as well as the villagers arrived at Neeraj's house to congratulate him.
Neeraj's grandmother was very happy with her grandson's success and danced to Haryanvi folk songs. Ladoo was distributed in the village on Neeraj's success. Neeraj's father Satish Kumar said that my son will bring gold medal for the country .
Neeraj's mother Saroj Devi said that I had spoken to him 15 days ago. He was working hard and we were confident that he would win a medal in this competition. Now when he comes back from America I will make churma laddu and feed him. Meanwhile, regarding Neeraj's marriage, he said that we will think about his marriage after the completion of the next Olympics.
