India's double Olympic medalist P.V. Sindhu will be the flag-bearer at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games starting tomorrow in Birmingham. Sindhu will lead the Indian team with the national flag. India had earlier selected Neeraj Chopra as the flag bearer. However, India had to change the flag bearer at the last minute as he withdrew injured.
PV Before selecting Sindhu, the Indian Commonwealth Games team members also discussed the names of Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Mirabai Chanu and boxer Lovelyna Borgohan as flag bearers. However, he ultimately chose Sindhu. Significantly, in the Commonwealth Games of 2018, P.V. Sindhu was the flag bearer.
