Team India head coach Rahul Dravid was recently a guest on former Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra's podcast 'In The Zone'. In which he shared a case related to his school cricket. This case is linked to his first century in school cricket. After which his wrong name was printed in the newspaper. His surname was written as David instead of Dravid in the news paper.

When Olympic gold medalist shooter Bindra asked the next question on this, Dravid gave an interesting answer. He said, "Perhaps the editor of the newspaper thought that this was a spelling mistake and could not be the name Dravid, so David should have been written."

Rahul Dravid continued, I think it was a lesson for me to realize that even though I was very excited and happy about scoring a century in school cricket, I was still not well known by people. They don't even know my real name. They could not trust my name unless it was correct and so changed it.

Dravid was inspired by Abhinav's Olympic gold

A few years ago, Dravid revealed how Abhinav Bindra's Beijing Olympic gold inspired him to get his derailed career back on track. Bindra is the first Indian to win Olympic gold in an individual sport.
