New Delhi, dated 21 July 2022, Thursday

The Indian team has reached Port of Spain for the match between India and West Indies. Where the first ODI is to be played. A series of 3 ODI matches has been organized between the two teams. After that, the five-match T-20 series will begin.

It has been reported that the cricket board had chartered a flight to bring the Indian team to the West Indies and spent 3 crore rupees. According to an English newspaper report, Covid was not the reason behind booking a chartered flight for Team India. The reason being given is that it was not possible to book such a large number of tickets simultaneously in any commercial airline for the 16 players and support staff of Team India and the wives of some players and if business class tickets were booked, the cost would have been Rs 2 crore. Because a ticket to Port of Spain is up to 2 lakh rupees. So the cricket board thought it better to book a chartered flight.

It is worth mentioning that the first ODI is to be played on July 22. Several senior players have been rested for the series. Shikhar Dhawan is the captain in this series. Players like Virat, Kohli, Rohit, Bumrah and Hardik Pandya will not play in the series.
