Bhupendra Patel said on this occasion that this MoU will be the cornerstone to carry out the grand planning of the National Games.

The Chief Minister said that with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the golden age of the sports sector has come in India. Sporting culture, sporting community and discipline are developing in India. By running a campaign like Fit India, the Prime Minister has created a bond between sports and fitness in the country.

Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, Gujarat has created sports infrastructure on a wide scale. The 36th National Games will complement Gujarat's gearing up to host international sports competitions and mega sports events like the Olympics.

Regarding the logo of the 36th National Games, the Chief Minister said that Girna Singh, which is a prominent feature of Gujarat, and various sports symbols have found a place in this logo. The identity of Gujarat, Khemer along with sports passion is shining in this logo. He hoped that the logo of the 36th National Games would instill new energy, new enthusiasm among the athletes.

The Chief Minister said that the concept of 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat' can be fully realized through sports. Sports instills team-spirit. A player's performance is important during the competition. The player's language, region, caste etc. do not matter at all.

He further said that after independence, Sardar Saheb of Gujarat achieved the goal of one India by uniting the small and big kingdoms and provinces. When the 36th National Games are being held in the same Gujarat, its tag line should be a mantra of unity. He added that the tag line 'celebrating unity through sports' is absolutely perfect.

Minister of Sports, Youth Services and Culture Harsh Sanghvi expressed his pride in Gujarat being the host of the National Games and said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and strong will under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the Indian Olympic Association, with the aim of providing the best platform to the youth of the country and the athletes of the state, National Games-2022 has been organized in Gujarat with the support of Gujarat State Olympic Association and Gujarat Government.

Planning for the National Games usually takes up to three years, but in a very short period of just three months, Gujarat has done this planning, which is a matter of pride for the entire team of Gujarat. All the athletes participating in the National Games will be welcomed in a unique way in Gujarat.

Minister Sanghvi added that organizing the National Games in such a short period of time has become possible because the budget for the sports department in the state earlier in 2002 was Rs. 2.5 crore increased to Rs. 250 crore has been reached. Not only this, Gujarat has prepared the best stadiums and grounds in the form of the best advanced infrastructural facilities for sportsmen. Sports infrastructure has been made available in various districts and cities of the state.

Apart from this, the support of six and a half crore citizens of the state will be received in organizing this National Games. As a result of all these things, the organization of National Games-2022 in Gujarat will be possible in a short period of only three months.

Gujarat is already known for hosting national and international events of this level and is confidently moving forward to surpass the level set by the National Games so far, he added.

The minister said that the campaign to find talented athletes from 18 thousand villages of the state was started by the then Chief Minister and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the year 2010 through 'Khel Mahakumbh'. This campaign has brought Gujarat sportspersons global fame today. He expressed confidence that the athletes of the state will contribute not only at the national but also at the international level and will make the state proud.

Acting President of Indian Olympic Association Anil Khanna said that Gujarat is now ready to take charge of the National Games for the 36th National Games. It is going to happen for the first time in the history of the country that in the 36th National Games, athletes from 36 states and Union Territories are going to compete in 36 different sports. 36 sports have been included this year, the most in the history of the National Games. The National Games are going to be held after a long gap of 7 years and Gujarat has accepted the challenge of organizing it successfully in less than 3 months.

Devendra Solanki, President of Gujarat State Olympic Association, said that the National Games is a dream come true for athletes, which instills a sense of sportsmanship, camaraderie and unity among the athletes. The venue and time of planned games have been fixed in a very short period of time. Along with this, arrangements have also been made for the best accommodation and food for the players.

Ashwini Kumar, Principal Secretary, Department of Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities, said that today, on this auspicious occasion, athletes and people associated with sports management have arrived here from all corners of the country. Our culture embodies a sense of national unity and integrity and respect for mutual values. Sports sector has a unique contribution to it. He specially mentioned that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the development of the sports sector in the entire country has got a new direction and momentum.

Indian Olympic Association Secretary General Rajeev Mehta, Gujarat State Olympic Association Secretary ID Nanavati and Sports Authority of India Secretary Rohit Bharadwaj besides officials including state and district level organization representatives, coaches and trainers were also present on the occasion. .
