Women's World Cup: BCCI wins auction in Birmingham, match to be held in India in 2025

India will host the Women's 50 Over World Cup (Women's ODI World Cup) in 2025. The BCCI won the bid for the mega-tournament during the ICC's annual conference that concluded in Birmingham on Tuesday. Now after more than a decade, the country will once again host this prestigious ICC tournament.

The last time India hosted the Women's 50 Over World Cup was in 2013. In that World Cup, in the final match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Australia won the title by defeating West Indies by 114 runs.

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said in a statement from the ICC, "We were keen to host the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 and we are happy that we have been able to host it.

The hosts of three other ICC women's tournaments were also announced on Tuesday. Bangladesh will host the T20 World Cup in the year 2024. The 2026 T20 World Cup will be hosted in England while the 2027 T20 World Cup will be hosted by Sri Lanka.
