3rd ODI: After a fighting performance against Pakistan, Netherlands lost by just 9 runs

Despite a strong fight from the Netherlands, they lost the third and final ODI against Pakistan by 9 runs. Chasing a target of 207 to win, Netherlands were all out for 197 runs in 49.2 overs. Due to Tom Cooper's 62 and Vikramjit Singh's 50 and Nidamunuru's 24 runs, at one stage the Netherlands raised hopes of victory. However, they ultimately lost. Pakistan won the ODI series 3-0 with this.

 

Chasing a target of 207 to win, the Netherlands were 172/5 at one stage. At this stage, there was a lot of pressure on Pakistan. However , the Netherlands, lacking the experience to maintain pressure in a crunch, lost the wickets of Nidamanuru (24) and Tom Cooper (62 off 105 balls). The passion of Pakistan increased after the 50-run partnership of Cooper-Nidamanuru was broken.

When Netherlands needed 14 runs in the last over , Aryan Dutt of Indian origin hit a four off the first ball. However, Mohammad Wasim then dismissed him and Netherlands were bundled out for 197 in 49.2 overs. Naseem Shah took five wickets for 33 runs and Wasim four wickets for 36 runs. Punjab-born opener Vikramjit Singh from Netherlands scored 50 runs in 85 balls with 7 fours.

Earlier, winning the toss and batting, Pakistan registered 206 runs in 49.3 overs with the help of Babar's 91 (125 balls, 7 fours , 2 sixes). Nawaz scored 27 runs and Zaman scored 26 runs. From the Netherlands, Bas De Leede took 3 for 50 runs and Vivian Kingma took two wickets for 15 runs. Pakistan lost the last five wickets for just 38 runs.
