FIFA Council's decision to lift ban on India

Zurich , dated 26

FIFA, the highest body of football, decided to lift the ban on India. With this, the All India Football Federation was reinstated in FIFA and it was confirmed that the Under-17 Women's Football World Cup would now be held on Indian soil. Earlier FIFA banned Indian football due to third party dominance in All India Football Federation.

However, the Supreme Court released the Committee of Administrators (COA) from the responsibility of managing the All India Football Federation (AIFF). With this, the responsibility of managing Indian football again came to the AIFF committee. AIFF also informed FIFA about this by sending a letter. In response, the FIFA Council of Bureaus decided to lift the ban on India.

Now the Under-17 FIFA Women's Football World Cup will be organized in India from September 11 to 30. Earlier on August 16, FIFA banned India and seized the hosting of the Under-17 Women's Football World Cup. Which is now back to India.
