Olympic champion javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra created history once again on Friday. Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian to win the title in the Lusana phase of the Diamond League meet. Along with this, Neeraj has also reached the finals of the Diamond League to be played at Zurich on September 7 and 8.
Neeraj Chopra is the first Indian to achieve this feat and has also qualified for the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Chopra (24) threw the javelin 89.08 meters in the first attempt and 89.08 meters in the repeat to achieve this feat. This is the third best effort of Neeraj Chopra's career. Notably, due to injury, he could not participate in the Commonwealth Games held at Birmingham.

Neeraj Chopra, a resident of Panipat, Haryana, has become the first Indian to win the Diamond League title. Earlier, discus thrower Vikas Gowda is the only Indian to finish in the top-3 of a Diamond League meet.
