Due to poor fielding and poor bowling, India lost the first T20 against Australia by four wickets with four balls to spare. Australia achieved the target of 209 to win by losing six wickets in 19.2 overs. India dropped two catches by Green and one by Wade. The bowlers too could not make an impact in the final phase. Green scored an unbeaten 61 in 30 balls and Wade scored an unbeaten 45 in 21 balls. Akshar Patel took three wickets giving only 17 runs in 4 overs , but he could not win the team. With this, Australia won the 3 T20 series by 1-0. Now the second T-20 will be played on 23rd Friday.
Earlier, due to Hardik Pandya's unbeaten 71 with 7 fours and five sixes in 30 balls with a strike rate of 236.66 and Suryakumar Yadav 's explosive innings of 46 runs with two fours and 4 sixes in 25 balls, India gave Australia a big challenge of 209 runs in the first T20 . India scored 208 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Seeing that captain Rohit Sharma scored 11 runs in 9 balls and Kohli got out with two runs in 7 balls, this score of India can be called very unexpected. Hardik Pandya hit three sixes in the last three balls of Cameron Green's last over of the innings.
