First ODI: Indian women's team wins against England by 7 wickets

With the help of Smriti Mandhana's 91, Harmanpreet's unbeaten 74 and Yastika Bhatia's 50, the Indian women's team won the first ODI against England by seven wickets. India achieved the target of 282 in 44.2 overs by losing three wickets. Mandhana scored 91 runs in 99 balls with 10 fours and 1 six. She became the player of the match.

The Indian women's team made a strong start to victory in the first ODI against England. India lost the wicket of Shefali Verma (1) cheaply against a target of 228 to win. However, Yastika Bhatia, along with opener Smriti Mandhana, shared 96 runs with aggressive batting. Bhatia scored a brilliant half-century. However, his innings ended with 50 runs. He hit 8 fours and 1 six in 47 balls.

Earlier, India won the toss and put the England women's team into bat first. India's senior fast Jhulan Goswami played an ODI in the absence of Mithali Raj for the first time in her career. Significantly , Mithali has announced her retirement. England's batsmen flopped and half their team gathered in the pavilion at a score of 94. However, Alice Davidson-Richards scored an unbeaten 50 off 61 balls. Supporting him, Danny Wyatt scored 43 and Eccleston scored 31 and Charlie Dean scored an unbeaten 24 runs. Deepti Sharma took two wickets for 33 runs and Jhulan Goswami , Meghna Singh , Rajeshwari Gaikwad , Sneh Rana and Harleen Deol took one wicket each.
