Various events of the National Games, which are being held for the first time in Gujarat, have already started. Gujarat was defeated by Haryana in the first match in the men's event of net ball being held in Bhavnagar. However, Gujarat won the second match against Madhya Pradesh by 53-38. With this, Gujarat kept alive the hope of entering the semi-finals and winning a medal. Now the men's netball team of Gujarat will face Punjab in the final league match , which will prove to be decisive.
In the men's event of netball, Gujarat is considered a contender to enter the semi-finals as the Punjab team had earlier defeated Madhya Pradesh in the league match. Punjab has also lost against Haryana. Madhya Pradesh will now play against the strongest Haryana team. When Gujarat will face Punjab. Captain Vikas Prajapati scored 29 points in Gujarat's victory over Madhya Pradesh.
However, the Gujarat women's netball team was eliminated from the race for the final four after losing both the matches. Gujarat women's team was defeated by Punjab 52-46 and Karnataka 63-46. Now Gujarat will play against Delhi in the final league match.
