Shardul Thakur's four wickets and Kuldeep Sen's three wickets helped India A win by seven wickets with 18.1 overs remaining in the first unofficial ODI against New Zealand A. New Zealand ended in only 167 runs. In response, India-A team won the match by scoring 170 runs for three wickets in 31.5 overs.
In the ODI played in Chennai, India-A team captain Sanju Samson won the toss and put the touring New Zealand-A team into bat first. New Zealand suffered from India's lethal bowling and lost five wickets for just 27 runs. Captain Robert O'Donnell ( 22) and Michael Rippon fought. However, after that they were trapped at 74/8. Rippon scored 61 runs off 104 balls with 4 fours. In the end, the tourist team was all out for 167. Walker added 36 runs.
In reply, Gaekwad from India-A scored 41 runs in 54 balls with 3 fours and two sixes. Shaw 17 , Rahul Tripathi was out for 31 runs. Finally, the pair of captain Sanju Samson (29* off 32 balls) and Rajat Patidar (45* off 41 balls) won the team. Rippon , Fisher and van Beek took 1 wicket each.
