India won the 3-match series 2-1 with one ball to spare in the third and final T20 against Australia , winning by six wickets. With this, India won the T20 series at home for the first time since 2013. Suryakumar Yadav scored 69 runs in 48 balls with five fours and five sixes and Kohli scored 63 runs in 48 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes. With the help of which India achieved the target of 187 in 19.5 overs by losing four wickets.
Suryakumar Yadav was declared player of the match. When Akshar Patel was declared the player of the series.
Chasing a target of 187, India lost the wickets of Rahul (1) and Rohit (17) at the score of 30. However, Kohli and Suryakumar shared 104 runs in 62 balls to lead India to victory. After the wicket of Suryakumar, Kohli shared 48 runs in 32 balls with Hardik Pandya.
With just five runs left to win , Kohli was dismissed. Finally Hardik Pandya (25* off 16 balls) hit the winning four. Dinesh Karthik was at the crease for 1 run. Sams took two wickets.
Earlier, India won the toss and put Australia into bat. Team David scored 54 runs in 27 balls and Green scored 52 runs in 21 balls to take Australia to 186 runs for seven wickets. Akshar Patel took three wickets by giving only 33 runs.
India last won the 1st T20I series against Australia at home in 2013. Then in 2017, the T20 series between the two teams on Indian soil was a 1-1 draw. Finally, in 2019, Australia won the 2nd T20I series 2-0 in the tour of India. Due to which this was India's first home T20 series victory against Australia since 2013.
