National Games Shooting: Elavenil of Gujarat in the final of 10m air rifle

Three gold medals will be at stake in the shooting event of the National Games tomorrow. Elavenil Valarivan, an international shooter from Gujarat, has entered the finals of the women's 10m air rifle event. However, no shooter from Gujarat could reach the final in men's 10m air rifle. While Rishiraj Barot of Gujarat is participating in the men's event of 25m rapid fire pistol.

8 out of 16 shooters entered the finals in the women's 10m air rifle event, which started today at the rifle club at Khanpur, Ahmedabad. Tilottama Sen of Karnataka topped the list with a score of 633.6. While Odisha's Sriyanka Sadangi was second with 629.3 points and Karnataka's Yukti Rajendra (629.3) was third. Haryana's Nancy (629.2) got the fourth position and Gujarat's Elavenil (629) got the fifth position.

While in the men's 10m air rifle event, Karthik Raj of Tamil Nadu won the top position with a score of 632.2. While Madhya Pradesh's Aishwarya Tomar (631.2) stood second. Gujarat's Vikas Prajapati did not make it to the finals finishing 12th with a score of 623.5.

Olympic silver medalist Vijay Kumar is competing in the 25m rapid fire pistol event. The second round of the event will be held tomorrow followed by the final. Shooter Rishiraj Barot of Gujarat is also involved in the medal race.
