Mumbai, dt. 23 October 2022, Sunday

Melbourne: Indian captain Rohit Sharma expressed his views on the selection of the Indian team for the high-voltage match against Pakistan Salam in the T20 World Cup on Sunday. He said that he is very flexible in deciding the final playing XI against Pakistan. He does not mind making one or two changes in the Indian team against Pakistan. The important thing is that

India has tried 29 players in T20 cricket in the last one year, so deciding the playing 11 in this match will not be too difficult.

On the eve of the match, he further said, 'Sometimes there are times when we don't know much about the other teams, how they will perform at this time.' In such cases the players will be selected based on their current performance. We are prepared to make last minute changes to the playing 11 considering the past performance of the players.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma said that the Asia Cup is to be played in Pakistan next year but right now we don't want to distract from the T20 World Cup preparations. Rohit said, 'I want to focus on this World Cup because it is important for us. There is no point in thinking now about what is going to happen in Pakistan in the future. Let the BCCI decide on that. We are only focusing on the World Cup.'
